Planty Care tips π₯΄πΏ
Welcome to the first instalment of the Planty Care tips π₯΄πΏ series. I hope you enjoy my sharing with you, common, and maybe not so common, care tips, π₯΄πΏ and planty suggestions as much as I enjoy sharing them with you. ππ΄πΏ
I’ve started with what are, to me, some of the more important considerations we can take into account before acquiring Planty friends. π€πΏ

Planty Care tips π₯΄πΏ
First thing I think of when getting/buying plants is how much attention I’ll give it. If it grabs my attention in picture or flesh then I’m more likely to pay it more attention once it’s home. πΏπ I tend to go for what catches my eye over what’s popular. I also like and grow some popular plants too. π€«πΏ
I imagine where the plant is likely to live in my environment. π€πΏ I usually have a couple of places in mind. ππ» The ones I like the look of I research care needs etcβ¦ I use various sources for this. My own experience of many years growing plants included. πΏπ Usually left behind when I’ve moved, hay ho, I’ve always gotten more. πΏπ π
If I enjoy the look and feel I get from the plant then I’ll usually collect it, at least, these days I will. π€πΏπ

Planty Care tips π₯΄πΏ
I’m blessed with great light in my little house. East windows, sun in south windows till after 4pm. East and South windows in the same room. A good 8 hours of great light in both my main rooms. π πΏπ
Saying that, I still consider the lightning in my environment. π€ππ πΏ I tend towards medium to bright light, some direct. πππΏ In my experience most plants do well indoors in medium to bright light conditions ππ» That’s not to say that with medium to low light, that you can’t have your space thriving with some green. I think I’d manage wherever light I was in.π€πΏπ
So I consider where I will place them, the light they will bask in. π€π πΏ
Plants (some) in my experience only tolerate low light. They survive. ππΏ To thrive? They all seem to prefer medium to bright light, well, all the ones I choose.π΄πππΏπ

Planty Care tips π₯΄πΏ
I’m not a lover of high maintenance* plant care. π€πΏπ€« This also comes to mind when choosing my π πΏ guests. π I go from a scale of low maintenance – medium maintenance.ππ»π§ππ΄πΏ No high dramas here please. ππ»
*High maintenance – Anything you have to buy electric humidifiers for and/or pay hundreds of pounds for and/or a plant you have to faff around with. ππ΄πΏ
“I raise the humidity enough for some Calathea (medium maintenance) using trays and bowls of water. Look out for the ππ»blogππ» on that. πβ²π΄πΏβ²π”
Out in nature plants grow everywhere. πΎ With little fuss and interference from us (humans) so I like to adopt the same sentiment with my indoor wilderness. π πΏπ
Once their needs/conditions are met in regards to lightning and humidity I pretty much like to leave them to it and watch them grow. ππ΄πΏ
Of course, I buzz about them almost every day. Checking for dead leaves π and keeping them bug free. π¦ππ΄πΏπ¦ π Polishing the odd leaf. πΏ Yet. To me, this is not plant maintenance, this is plant growing Joy! π₯³π πΏπ₯³

Planty Care tips π₯΄πΏ
There is a lot of joy one can get from caring for π πΏ plants and when considering which new plant friend to get I am always honest with myself, as a human being and as a plant lover. “Will I give this particular foliage the required attention?” Or “Will I be able to manage this gorgeous baby Monstera when it’s grown into a tropical beast monster? ππ πΏ
A few things I consider before adopting plant friends. π₯³π πΏ Time, space and light. How much have I got?
Thank you for joining me. ππ πΏπ
